Miramar Show

As part of a recent Ian Allan Tour to the West Coast of America we spent a day at MCAS Miramar's show and what a show. Formation displays by The Blue Angles, Patriots and for the first time at Miramar the Canadian Forces Snowbirds Demonstration Team (431 Squadron). One of the last JATO takeoffs by the Blue Angles Fat Albert (C130). A race between Red bull’s Mig 17F and Shockley’s “ShockWave” Jet Truck. An Airborne and ground assault by the Marines including a few tanks. With a F16, AV-8B Harrier demo, U.S. Army Golden Knights Parachute Team making up the rest of the Service contingent. A number of Civilian aerobatic aircraft added to the sceptical. A good selection of static aircraft were on display including VFA-122’s freshly painted F/A-18F Super Bug. Each of the based Squadrons had their CAG bird on display but were very difficult to capture due to the proximity of their sales stands.
